Marty McCormack and co-driver James O’Reilly brought their Tiger Risk Skoda Fabia S2000 home in eight place overall in the Kenotek Ypres Rally 2015. The Belgian event is renowned for being one of the most difficult and specialised tarmac rallies in the world. 2015 was no exception to this.
Marty commented at the finish “I am so proud of getting to the end of this incredible rally! We had a massive moment on stage two where we hit a bank and spun in the road. I thought it was all over! We were very lucky to get away with minimal damage and not loose much time. After that we had to really focus in order to claw our way back up the leaderboard.”
Marty put in a stunning drive after the off-road excursion to climb from a low of sixteenth to eighth place. “The car was incredible all weekend and I really have to thank my team for all their hard work. Our pace increased as the days went on and to take a second fastest time on the final stage was a great illustration of how we progressed throughout the rally. We proved that we have the speed on tarmac and are now really looking forward to competing in WRC Rally Deutschland in You can keep up to date with Marty on Twitter @martymccormack and Facebook.com/marty.mccormack1.
